Anglichat began as an experiment and in some ways has been a huge learning curve in terms of a forum. Some time back, a friend of mine had a crack at something like this and gave up on it. It follows the Anglican idea of time and place. Some people are using Facebook extensively, however that seems an inappropriate place to have a theological or ecclesiastical discussion. The Anglican Communion Forum on linked in is a little better. For the moment this project has stalled a little, I spent some time controlling and managing spam which for a while could have become a full time job. At some stage I will move this project on. It does illustrate an alternative way to use the web.,
Lakes Anglican this site replaced an earlier site which had perhaps lost its initial impact. The site is regularly updated, with news sheets and other items, on a regular basis by members of the Lakes Anglican Team. The parish also maintains a facebook presence, not as a page but as a community forum and many of them are regular and active within the www.
NB: The parish has since updated the theme to a standard wordpress theme
All Saints Nelson Bay is the other parish site I have completed in Dot Net Nuke. They have one person who has taken up the task of maintaining and running the site and they have done a great job, and explored several alternative aspects along the way.
All Saints Belmont is my parish church. The site is currently running Dot Net Nuke, though we may well move it to WordPress in the medium term as there are a few modest advantages to be had in that move. The site has been effective and numbers of people have been involved in updating various aspects of the site. We have tried various things on the site along the way, including a online Bible Study.
